The Students’ Welfare Department looks after the protection of rights and supervises the welfare activities of the students of Sanjivani College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kopargaon. Students’ Welfare Department promotes and co-ordinates the different students’ activities for better corporate life. Students’ Welfare Department tries to nurture students’ mental, physical, cultural growth with various activities to improve their overall personality development and to make them civilized Indian citizens to compete in the globalized world.

Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyan (Fearless Girl Campaign)

The main objectives of this scheme includes development of self confidence how to defend oneself in any situation, training in self defense and finally make them fearless and be ready to face any unwanted situation. The scheme is open to all lady students of Sanjivani College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kopargaon. The college makes available requisite funds for undertaking this activity.

                                                           

Soft Skills Programme

This Program includes training in Spoken English, ways and means to appear for an interview and total personality development basically good and effective communication skills. Putting one’s best foot forward. At present it has been organized in Sanjivani College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kopargaon. The response to the program is overwhelming amongst the rural based students and amongst out of state students.

Students’ Safety Insurance Scheme

Sanjivani College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kopargaon is committed to providing a healthy, safe and secure environment. One of which enhances the experience for students and allows staff in academic and service areas to work actively and creatively without risk of injury or illness. Sanjivani College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kopargaon has insured all its employees and students.

Sanjivani College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kopargaon conducts various seminars, conferences, workshops and camps to enable the student of college to become successful professionals.

                                                           

Youth Festivals

There is Youth Festival Programs for which college sends its team. Ultimately these give our students an opportunity to understand the different parts of Maharashtra as well as the country. It is an opportunity for the students of college to test their accomplishments at state as well as national levels. This gives them the exposure and is celebration of cultural diversity and difference, a unity in diversity. The Students’ Welfare Department take special care and interest that the students of Sanjivani College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kopargaon participate in these festivals with great zest.

Earn and learn scheme

Objective-

The main objective of the scheme is to develop a student as a multifaceted personality with academic excellence and a commitment to an egalitarian society. India lives in her villages and to bridge the gap between rural Bharat and urban India, this scheme is basically undertaken for the benefit of students coming from the rural areas, who are economically backward, intelligent and meritorious but cannot afford higher education, needy and financially hard pressed. It inculcates in the student the idea that no work is big or small and develops a work culture with the right aptitude. It is now been announced by our Vice Chancellor, Dr. Narendra Jadhav that the scheme should be flexible to give work to those who demand it. This is a vision of keeping our youth gainfully employed as well as to contribute from civil society. This is a paradigm shift in the way we see higher education. This will make higher education accessible and available to the poor, meritorious and the marginalized.
The scheme is at present being undertaken at the post-graduate level on the university campus as well as at the graduate level in the affiliated colleges and recognized institutions under the jurisdiction of the University of Pune. Financial assistance to the extent of ninety percent of the expenditure incurred by the affiliated Colleges/ Institute is reimbursed to the concerned on submitting the necessary papers to the Director, Board of Students’ Welfare. Under this scheme those students who are interested in joining are to fill the necessary application form, which is then scrutinized by an appropriate committee. The list of students who have been finally enrolled in the scheme are to be sent to the Director, Board of Students’ Welfare on or before 15th September every year, subject to the condition that the College / Institution has been given permission to undertake the scheme. The students enrolled under the scheme are given the following types of work namely-That increase their skills in areas of their study, office work, technical work and field work. However when the distribution of work is given it is seen that all students get equal opportunity to get all different kinds of work and that each student gets eighty percent of technical work and twenty percent of fieldwork. Office work includes working at the Library or any other office of the institute.

                                                                 


Technical work includes:

Knowledge of computers, office machines such as photocopying etc. or even working at a telephone booth, while field work includes working in the garden, looking after newly planted trees, play grounds, cleanliness of the campus etc. Each student is expected to work for three hours (3) daily.

Students working under this scheme are paid an honorarium of Rs.45 per hour as per the revised rates effective 1 Feburay 2017. Payment is made as per the attendance sheet, which is to be maintained by the college. The students are requested to open a bank account at their respective places and cheques make payments. At the end of the year the respective college is requested to submit the annual accounts for the scheme when the central audit scheme is undertaken.

Student Council

Definition of student council

 A group of students who are elected by other students to represent them in college government and to help plan activities for the students.

Purpose of Student Council

Student Council is an organization conducted by students and supervised by faculty.  The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out college activities and service projects.  In addition to planning events that contribute to college spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body.  They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the college wide community.

The function of the student council is based upon parliamentary procedures.  Ideas are presented, voted upon and confirmed by the student body president.  Any student that is interested in leadership, organizational behavior, event planning or becoming more involved in the college are welcome to become involved.  

Establishment of Students’ Council

Students’ council is formed in college as per the sub-section (77) of section 99 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 (Mah. Act No. Vl of 2017).

The Government of Maharashtra hereby, specifies the procedure for election, authority for conduct of election, mechanism for conduct of such elections, code of conduct for candidates and election administrators, and grievances redressal mechanism in respect of election to Students’ Council.

Following above guidelines under directions of SPPU, Pune students’ council for academic year 2019-2020 established and its constitution is as given below.

Trees plantation

Trees of different indigenous varieties are planted and there care is taken so that they can grow well. Different varieties of trees are planted as a social responsibility. Different varieties of fruit trees are also grown.

                                                       

Competitive examination guidance cell

Identifying the need of time Sanjivani College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kopargaon has special guidance cell for those students willing to make career in competitive examinations like MPSC, UPSC, GPAT, Drug inspector, etc.
